This past week Ishmael has sent me three books:
Penucquem Speaks by Ronald Thomas West, which will help primarily with the sequel to Kettle of Bones, which will deal with the Blackfeet Feud
He also sent Old Jules, by Mari Sandoz, who authored the excellent Crazy Horse biography Ishmael sent me earlier this year. I suspect those volume will help me with the third and final Liver-Eater book concerning his feuds with the Nez Perce, Cheyenne and Sioux.
Life and Death on the Musselshell: Montana territory 1868-1872, Featuring the Diary of C. M. Lee Gunsmith, Merchant, edited by H. Duane Hampton, looks to be required reading for Kettle of Bones
I am currently reading everything on the Crow and Mountain Men in the collection of 40 volumes Ishmael has sent, and will reread the Crow [Sacred Ravens] histories and Crow Killer on my flight out to Utah in September. The primary tools I need, other than the trip is the Liver-Eater time line, which I will develop from the online sources and Crow Killer and as much Crow myth and history as I can absorb. The first book will be a Crow Perspective horror novel about the Liver-Eater feud, an event which their chief historian has denied.
Thank you, Ishmael.
