What follows is my reconstruction of yesterday's conversation in the snack food aisle at work.

What followed was 300 years of greedy, secularized Europeans from nominally 'Christian' nations taking land, economic control and political leadership away from Islamic ruling classes in dozens of nations. Catholic militaries did great fighting the Turks in defensive wars. Protestant nations never had to defend against the Muslims, or didn’t. For instance England under Queen Elizabeth, King James and King Charles, let Turks and other Muslims raid their homeland for slaves and never even opposed these pirates. Unfortunately, our nation is based on the entire Protestant construct, which is great for wiping out primitives and outworking Catholics, but has never been effective for dealing with Islam. The Protestant method of exporting empire was exemplified by the British, who thought they could manage Muslims, resulting in numerous disasters where British divisions and detachments were wiped out in the 1800s. During the 1900s the Muslims laid low and studied the secular system that the Protestant nations had devolved into, identified the weaknesses, and fought back.”

Currently the Secular faction holds almost all of the cards. With an attack like this, that finally—perhaps—wakes up some of the secular players to the fact that Islam is more dangerous than Christianity to their hedonistic cause, I see those with the most to lose—being gays—seizing control.”
Typed Addendum
Think about it:
1. Gays don’t have children to raise and acquire political influence and money more quickly than breeders. Homosexuals currently wield political influence vastly out of proportion to their umbers, which are growing. These two facts together indicate a rising power.
2. Gay culture is not propagated by birthing and raising children, but through alliance-building, with feminists for instance. Since these people do not believe in direct action but manipulation of proxy force, they are conceptually better suited to take charge. They also have the most to lose if they do not. Christians and Muslims at least have an afterlife. These people are literally battling the Devil at the gates of heaven and have zero combative and reproductive ability, so must seize control to survive. Christianity, on the other hand, is a religion uniquely well suited to survive in the hearts of oppressed people who have no control over society.
3. Ultimately, if the gay leadership manages to seize power through a proxy politician—a queen for instance—their ultimate goal will be to control reproduction. So as Christians suffer under Secular and Islamic regimes, I see the eventual fate of humanity resting in the homosexual quest for artificial, State-controlled human production. Once that is in place, Christians and other religionists that oppose the Secular global cult will be forbidden to have children and if they do, these children will be taken as Janissaries and indoctrinated to hate their heritage—a process which is already well under way in the media and daycare-schooling systems. In the meanwhile, the Muslims will be killing and taxing and growing.
You might want to move to Chile or Argentina.
My theory is that we are currently living thru peak gay, it's as fruity as it will ever get, because by the time designer babies come around in a decade or two, homosexuality will go the way of the dodo, as in it will become extinct, very few parents will make that life style choice, when it eventually can be made.

Maybe your pot is not so cracked James. As for why didn't the gays fight back? On the one hand I'd guess it's a safe bet we weren't dealing with the "Theban Scared Band" here. On the other hand it is also likely that the murderer, Omar Mateen, picked his venue well (he had visited the club numerous time before) such that his intended victims were unable to rush him en masse and perhaps those few individuals who may have tried were shot down. Even the SWAT cops were afraid to rush the nightclub out of fear that Mateen was wearing an explosive suicide vest. The fact that the killer had control of the scene for better than half an hour serves to explain the high dead to wounded ratio, as lot of the unfortunate victims likely bled out before they could be rushed to a hospital. Oh by the way, places that's serve liquor are gun free zones by Florida law, so even people with a Florida concealed carry license can't go armed there. Avoid gun free zones for the rest of Ramadan.
As for America's Northeastern Leftist ruling elite, yes they are still "Protestants" or "Puritans", even though they are no longer Christian. That is to say they still possess most of the same character traits as their Puritan ancestors. They are disciplined, restrained, quiet, ambitious and sure of themselves. They dislike other whites who don't act the way they believe whites should act. So our modern Puritans still dislike Irish, French, and Italians (much too vocal, boisterous, emotional and unrestrained). However, at the same time our modern Puritans are tolerant of the same character flaws in non-white peoples, who they often regard as being childlike, not capable of knowing any better. The British have long noted that while America's population is "foreign" its ruling elite is still very much Anglo-Saxon Protestant. So while our modern Puritans have most of the same personality traits their ancestors, nowadays they are instead pursuing Leftist transformational polices with comparable religious zeal. Like they say there really isn't such a thing as having no religion, rather everybody believes in something that can't be proven and has to be taken on faith. Will the Powers-that-be turn everybody gay? That is not a new idea. See "The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman. The opinion makers in our society have been promoting the idea of sex purely for pleasure rather than for procreation for a long time. Certainly our global elite is almighty concerned about reducing the world's population drastically so the proles and dindus won't eat up all the resources the elites will need to live the good life. So on our current path it's likely we will see a massive "culling of the herd" in the next century or so as most of humanity becomes "surplus to requirements" due to automation.
Update: the plot thickens as more details of the Orlando massacre are released. It has been revealed that Omar Mateen was gay himself and frequently patronized gay bars. So was he a self-loathing gay? Was the pain of unrequited love the provocation for this atrocity? Motivations such as these were no doubt in the mix, but nevertheless Mateen made the “Bayat”, a holy oath and pledge of allegiance to the emir of ISIS to the 911 operator, so this made his attack an act of Jihad, holy war, against the infidel sodomites.
So Omar Mateen is now a “Shahid”, a Jihadist martyr, whose sins have been remitted and who has secured immediate entry into paradise. As a Shahid he does not have to endure the punishment of the grave and wait until Judgement Day to reach paradise. He is in the arms of the 72 “houris”, the supernatural beings who appear as beautiful virgin women and serve as companions to the Muslim faithful in heaven. The houris do not urinate, defecate, menstruate or become pregnant and remain young and beautiful forever.
It looks some in the nightclub stepped up that night while others clearly did not.

One finds that the Middle-Eastern societies are insane dichotomies. They are particularly two-faced about homosexuality. On the one hand, homosexuality is banned by Muslim Sharia Law and punishable by death in Muslim lands. On the other hand, sodomy and pederasty are rampant in these same countries. You may be right about the peak gay but it's going to take a while as no one knows why gays are gay. I've heard a theory that it's a virus of some sort. Maybe but I'm not so sure. The best theory I've heard is that there are frequently two eggs fertilized in a Women's womb and very, very often one either dies or is absorbed into the other fetus.
There was even a Women one time who had a genetically different uterus from herself. Her husband thought she cheated on him because the genes didn't match. Turns out his genes matched but her's didn't.
Gays and Lesbians would be babies that absorbed some of the genetic make up of an opposite sexed twin who was never born.
