Under Obama NASA stood for “No Americans in Space Anymore”.
“President Trump peeled back the curtain on his plans for the US space program on Tuesday — singing a sweeping NASA policy bill into effect and reaffirming the agency’s commitment to human exploration and putting a man on Mars.”
“Trump’s decision to focus on space travel is a far cry from what Barack Obama did with NASA during his time in office. In addition to funneling billions of dollars into earth science and global warming research, the former commander-in-chief once publicly blasted the idea of putting another man on the moon — famously saying, “We’ve been there before.”
Trump wants to make space exploration great again
Medieval England: life was hard and then you died. An Interesting facial reconstruction of the corpse of an indigent man buried at the Hospital of Saint John in Cambridge England some 700 years ago. Looks like the guy next door. Literally. If you live in the Anglosphere I’ll bet there is somebody you know who looks just like this man. FYI it was the Christian Church that invented the hospital as a place for caring for the sick, the injured and the aged. A concept we take quite for granted in the modern world. Before the establishment of such hospitals the sick and injured were cared for in their home, if they had one. This man is estimated to have died at about the age of forty. Even as late as 1900 the average life expectancy in the USA was age 45. In the past people tended to die young from disease, accident and misadventure. The two leading causes of death in the USA in 1900 were diarrhea and pneumonia. The leading causes of death in the USA in the year 2000 were heart disease and cancer. This means that more of the people in 21st Century America are living long enough to acquire the degenerative diseases of extreme old age.
