What this means in Baltimore County is that it is getting more violent, with two home invasions in the next neighborhood over from me just yesterday—because half of those leaving harm City are the violent criminals, migrating into Inner Whitebreadistan under Federal Orders, driving down property values enough that I can afford to rent a room here!

We could all chip-in and just buy you a whole city block in Detroit where you'd never have to pay rent again.
Mexico's problems remind me that Mexico legalized gay marriage before the US did. Our church goes down to a Mexican border town every year and fixes a church building down there and drops off building supplies. Everything not protected with razor wire is stolen. When we occasionally bring some women with us, the Mexican church women come and talk about all the problems they have with their men: indolence, drunkenness, violence, drug-addiction. Mexico is a failed state because they are a failed people in need of a robust Calvinism.
Happily, some Mexicans are taking matters into their own hands. Nota bene that Mexico has very strict gun control which doesn't seem to mean anything:

I had thought about that before. I've seen some excellent old school brick and stone houses in Detroit and Baltimore that would be great. I often wondered the same if you cold control a block or two could the residents keep it secure like a compound? Probably the administration would run you out or arrest you for trying.
