Is the Pope Catholic? Apparently not.

He certainly doesn’t subscribe to the two millienia old Catholic doctrine on the existance of Hell and eternal damnation. Provided this report is true and not a complete hoax, the Holy Father sounds more like he is a Jehovah’s Witness, or a Jew. The adherents of both those religions do not believe in the existence of Hell or in the eternal damantion of evil, unrepentent souls. For that matter both Jehovah’s Witness and many Jews do not believe in any afterlife, as in a heaven or a hell, but rather in the Resurrection of the Dead on the Last Day, when the Messiah will restore the Earth to its former pristine Garden of Eden state. The unrepentent and unbelievers, they believe, will merely not be resurrected. The belief in Hell and damnation is a doctrine that Catholicism shares with all the other orthodox Christian faiths (ones that adhere to the beliefs stated in the Nicene Creed), from Eastern Orthodox Christianity to the Southern Baptists. Hell is not mentioned at all in the Old Testment. Only ‘Sheol’, the abode of the dead, both righteous and unrighteous. Jesus talks about Hell/Gehenna/ the Inferno/the Lake of Fire more than any other person in the Bible

This is not the first time Pope Francis I has contradicted the official Catholic catechism. Like a lot of Leftists he seems to get off on saying things that will ‘shock the squares’. Now the Vatican could very easily clear this whole controversy up, if it wanted too. It would certainly be to the benefit of the Catholic faithful, no doubt much confused and dismayed by this rumored pronouncement, for the Vactican to promptly and incontrovertbly correct this contradiction. The fact that it chooses not to, but instead give some mealy mouthed explantion that the Pope was just having a “private conversation" and not speaking ‘ex cathedra’, tells us much.

Oh well, the report that the Pope has declared Hell to be closed should please pro-abortion Catholic Leftists like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, yuh think?

Gosh, at this rate the next thing they’re going to try and tell us is that Easter is canceled ‘cause they found the body.
