Three Mounties were injured as they attempted to arrest a Banff man Thursday evening.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a call for assistance at an apartment where a 34-year-old male was believed to be intoxicated and combative, leading residents to ask for his removal.
While attempting to arrest the man, RCMP said, the three responding police officers were assaulted. The male then jumped off the balcony, fled a short distance and was arrested shortly after by two other RCMP members. EMS provided assistance on scene as well.
The man and the three injured officers were taken to hospital, where they were treated and released. One member remains off duty while the other two are back on the beat.
A judicial interim release hearing was held for Robin Jeremy Tatham, who was released on recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court in Canmore on June 20.
Tatham is charged with one count of disarming a police officer, two counts of assaulting a police officer with a weapon and three counts of assaulting a police officer.
“The efforts put forth by the attending officers to maintain control of this situation in the face of their injuries is to be commended” says Staff Sgt. Michael Buxton-Carr, the Banff detachment’s commander, in a release.
“An incident like this demonstrates the risks we face and overcome on a daily basis.”

“Why? Why does it matter so damn much to the members of racial, ethnic, and gender victim groups what average white folks are saying and doing?”

If Klinger only knew he could have saved money on all those dresses, eh?
This begs the question of how on earth would the government ever be able to bring back a military draft in time of war if all you have to do to get kicked out of the service now is use the ‘N’ word?
It seems you can lose weapons and grenades and not get kicked out of the AF, but don’t you dare use the ‘N’ word. Even in jest as a snarky, off-color joke while off duty and among one’s peers. After all, the ‘N’ word can’t be that hateful an epithet if black people themselves so commonly use it to refer to each other, can it? But apparently many among the ‘anointed’ believe it has magic power to cause harm to blacks whenever a white person uses it (see “The Bubbafly Effect”). Now that word has become a weapon to use to punish any white person indiscrete enough to give utterance to it (Except the likes of Bill Mahar, ‘cause he’s a solid Lefty down with the struggle).
Once again, the lesson learned is that nothing good comes from posting stuff on social media.
