Heya James, I've read a recent article of yours where you mentioned Tacoma and other West Coast towns and cities being nothing in comparison to the grit of Baltimore. I'm sure you're right, however back in the 80s and early 90s I've heard stories that the Hilltop neighborhood in Tacoma was especially "bad" due to crack and the gangs pushing it.
What are your thoughts on Tacoma today?

Well, back in Harm City, a concrete yeti didn't have to worry 'bout a negro like dis!
That said, I have met with a former Tacoma cop, just last weekend, a man named Juan Stabone, who told me a story or two about savage encounters of the colored kind, including the battle with the Atomic Somoan! His tales will be put in a novel starring him as "the Last Good Cop." He even had an encounter with a boxer named Bump City back in the day.
I also arrived in Seattle on the train at town center to see the same knuckleheads standing idle and menacing on the main streets as one finds in every Leased Coast city. The local news went nuts last week reporting on two hoodrats trying to shoot each other and cutting down 8 innocent bystanders. In Baltimore, that shooting would not have been the cause for a single press conference, let alone many. In Tacoma and Seattle as with Portland, we have certain areas, like Pine and Third, "the Valley" and others where violence is expected.
The thing about Baltimore, Camden, and other leased coast shitholes, is that violence is expected on any block at any time, and in the really bad zones, where you would see fifty unemployed and able bodied men loitering in the ghost guilt cities of the Northwest, in Baltimore, its as empty as a horror movie just before the blood starts to spatter.
Baltimore has 35 neighborhoods. To understand what that is like in northwest terms, Take the worst neighborhood in Tacoma, replicate it 5 times.
Take the worst neighborhood in Seattle, replicate it 5 times
Take the worst area of Portland, replicate it 5 times
Take the third-best neighborhood from each of the three cities and transplant it.
That is 18 hoods.
Begin building shittopia.
You now have 17 empty slots—15 if you graduated from Baltimore City schools.
Now, empty every jail and prison and homeless camp in the Northwest into a race machine that turns all of the vanilla wafers into chocolate cookies, ginger snaps and Oreos, doubly embitters the cookies who started out chocolate, and construct 17 hoods out of those disgruntled mutherfuckers and finish building Baltimore!
From what I have seen of Seattle since I have been here, it is going the way of Baltimore a lot quicker than Portland will, with anarcho-tyranny ethics and policies aggressively embraced by the gay government.
I'm calling the years from apocalypse for Portland: 15 and for Seattle: 10, provided they can move in enough people of color to do more than cause a shitshow and really shut the town down.

I seem to remember a time in the 80's when New York was number one for homicides and Tacoma was number two.

New York is trying to make a comeback.
