A question James. You mentioned that the retailers in your area are offering discounted tactical knives. Just out of morbid curiosity I was wondering what are the most popular types and brands sold? Sometimes the style of knife selected will give an indication of the tactics favored. Although I suppose in most instances people will usually just buy what's cheap and what's available.
These are various Pakistani and Chinese tactical clip folders, one even serrated with a camo handle. The largest and the smallest do not sell so good. The purchases are mostly of 3-4 inch blades on the broad side. Many young guys in Baltimore are now wearing one clipped to the front pocket of their pants. The retailers are primarily convenience marts and gas stations in high crime areas. My opinion is these blades are bought fro defense, however, we have had a rise in stabbings coincide with this retailing trend; one happened last night a mile from here..
