Considering plans for the coming year is often an occupation of mine the night before the darkest day of the year, the 21st of December, I think. This is my favorite time of year, largely because of the gathering darkness at the margins of the shortened day, which made me feel less weird about being an overnight worker. Such conditions also, in the increasing cold, favored this yeti in the grand game of extinction in which he was the pale hare coursed by the dark hounds of his native habitat.
But for now, I have no travel plans for 2021.
Two of my print drafts have been held up in the guts of the machine. So, the Eye of Sauron, which I always equated with the eye at the top of the heap of American iconography on the back of the dollar bill, may have turned in my direction.
Yes, I have invitations to travel, but do not know what measures of motion control might be added to the spectrum of mind control once the Restored Nazgul Council is Convened in Mordor.
So I have no plans for the coming year, only the resolution to finish the 17 books now in progress.
Here is wishing you also a serenely grey day.
In the meantime, Joy perhaps awaits just over the horizon with this missive from the Viking Age Barbarian.
