Okay, it’s my sister—that means she never gets a 2 star or less review. When I read a book for a review I earmark quotes that would make nice titles. This makes it easy to come up with one to three titles out of a novel. That gets something directly and concisely from the author to the reader of the review without my interference. Much nonfiction is tough when it comes to lifting a title from the author’s own text—especially with the soulless libertarian guys. One way to rate the atmospheric quality of an author’s writing is a collection of such quotes. Ernst Junger had an easy dozen titles in Storm of Steel.
So, permit me to get out of my little sister’s way and let some atmospheric prose from her weird-ass horror novella nibble at your imagination a line at a time, in their narrative order:
‘the heavy weight of doom’
‘confessions of the damned’
‘small fists of anger’ [yeah, an off-pissed chick wrote that]
‘along the river of sleep’
‘the lesser creatures of the world’
‘the pieces of your scattered mind’
‘Nectar of Belarus’
‘at the edge of madness’
‘the dark woman’
Oh yeah, and the protagonist’s sister, Fiona, is a total bitch on wheels. Other than that the feel is somewhere between Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the Exorcist, by whoever wrote that and scarred me awake for a week when I was twelve.
I really enjoyed it Sheri, and it read at the pace of taut non-fiction, much quicker than most of the prose fiction currently out there. You better watch out. If you keep writing novellas that meatheads like me can chunk down in an afternoon you might have some feminist bitch named Fiona show up and take your pink girl card away.
What kind of wine am I supposed to bring again?

White it is and you're welcome.

When can we expect the concluding novella and what will the title be?

The Bite should be ready by the end of September, maybe sooner. Fingers crossed :)
