The Silence of Men
A Talk on Native American War Fighting Methods of the Eastern Woodlands
© 2014 James LaFond
DEC/17/14
This is an informative talk. The book by James Adair mentioned by the first speaker is one I read as a teenager and it was great. For modern survivalists interested in studying black powder era war fighting tactics take note of the first speaker’s reference of Long Range Recon Patrols in Vietnam. I recommend the book Six Silent Men, by an author I have since forgotten.
Note the sacral aspects of war among primitive men. Most importantly note the aspect of silence. Silence to fighting men has been largely forgotten due to movie dialogue inserted for the female audience, and trash-talking modern athletes and pseudo-athletes. One of the things that impressed native warriors with the ineptitude of the white soldier was how he ran his mouth.
For modern street survival this is key to dealing with the attentions of innocent unarmed oppressed black teens, who like the white tenderfoot of old, does not have the discipline of silence. Hit the chin while they run their mouth. You do not even have to punch. A good hard slap will tear ligaments in an open jaw.
Oh, and the cameraman, use him to demonstrate binding to and burning at the stake at your next gathering.
