These fights were a plays in a gladiatorial football game in which we fought to get the helmet over the line 10 yards behind the opponent. The two fights are notable as stick fights as I had no ground game and Damien was a NAGA finalist. The sticks were inch and a half leg breakers. We would call our selves out for power shots to the head or multiple glancing blows to the helmet. The general rule was if it hurt with the helmet on your were done. Due to various heavy oak and pine weapons we used we were still wearing shin guards until 2006, when we went to just rattan and steel and retired the armor. If a fighter could open another fighter's face cage, or now take off his fencing mask, and touch the opponent's eyes with his fingers, we called it an eye gouge finish, which would be my only chance once Damien got his pretzel making game going.
