I hope to eventually see a number of serials in this space, some by me and others by you. Online publishing makes this possible and is one of the many boons of the God of Things I so often gripe about. I began writing the First Contact serial because I had a nightmare and wanted to write about it and did not think it would make a marketable novel. Indeed horror is not even my genre. I soon found that having a serial in the works is a nice outlet for that fiction impulse while I am working on a piece of non-fiction.
None of my serials have a regular schedule. I have 10 features planned for 2013 and they must be my focus. I will write serials as I feel the need—a purely compulsive process.
First Contact
This serial has a definite ending: #20. And, in an attempt to earn some props from the successful businessman I helped bring into this world, I am going to put the ending up for sale! The last installment of First Contact will be novelette length and will sell for $3.
No wonder there are so many capitalists out there. The mere idea off holding my readers’ imaginations hostage makes me smile and want to count my can of change! Just stone me when I get back to the commune.
Hurt Stoker
This is a novel that will be serialized beginning in the first week of January 2013. I wanted to write it as a novel and try to sell it to a publisher. But, who am I kidding. The subject is far too controversial for me to think I could sell it to a publishing house. The first issue is the Front Matter, and will include the title page, dust cover, table of contents, and a statutory reference. There are 27 chapters in all. The last three chapters will be sold as one installment for $3. How is that for a deal; you get to sample almost all of it before buying, and then get it at a discount!
The Spiral Case
This is a classic open-ended serial with no planned ending. There may be occasional novelette length installments that will be sold for $3. These will be written in such a way that they are not necessary to the continuity of the free installments.
You!
Would you like to write a serial for the site? Contact me. Look, I would appreciate reading something online other than my stuff, and this is the only site I can get to because Charles made getting to it from my computer tech-tard proof.
