The Epic of Gilgamesh is most often referenced as containing the first known version of the Legend of the Biblical Flood, which some maintain is a universal human tradition, and some point to as the basis for the tale of Noah in the Book of Genesis.
A much less commonly drawn tie between ancient Summer and the Abrahamic faiths is the story of Samson from The Book of Judges, which, to this reader echoes many of the elements found in the story of Gilgamesh, particularly the downfall of the wild man at the hands of a seductress.

Trivia: Angela Lansbury, from that terrible TV series Murder She Wrote, is the babe throwing the spears in the second clip of this flick. Also, one of the supporting actors is Fritz Lieber, the science fiction author of the Fafred and the Grey Mouser stories. Note the narrative prelude with the jingoistic American call to freedom that popped up in the beginning of many of these sword and sandal epics, including Spartacus.
