‘What Causes Violent Crime?’
A Man Question from Habibi: Part One of Six

“James, I was discussing violent crime with a friend and he said that the cause is poverty, and that white people, if they were poor, would commit just as much violence as blacks do. Can you offer any illumination that might counter this? I just have to believe that there is some other reason than poverty for the tidal wave of black on white violence.”
-Habibi
Habibi, I can speak for violence in the Central, Maryland area directly through the 1806 acts of violence I have documented through interviews and by my own experiences, which run to over 200. According to overwhelming video evidence on YouTube and in Colin Flarity’s book White Girl Bleed A Lot these trends seem to hold true for the other mid-sized majority black cities in the U.S., from Wilmington to Oakland.
In order to speak to the cause I must write a history of violence from prehistory to the present, which should take me most of next week. So please be patient.
I can tell you this about the current urban violent crimescape:
1. Violence patterns differ drastically in the period from 2013 thru 2015 than in the period before 2003—which began in 1985 with the crack epidemic, with the intervening years of 2004 thru 2012 showing a steep decline in all forms of violence other than violence committed by the police and by blacks, which have both spiked while all other forms of violence have declined.
2. The only reasons for violence that matter to me are immediate, and these reasons are:
A) Does the aggressor believe that they have an overwhelming advantage over the potential target of their violence?
B) Does the aggressor feel justified in initiating violence against this particular target?
C) Can the aggressor expect to be supported in his actions by his peers? This does not have to include any notion of physical help, but simply a reasonable expectation of approval.
D) Does the aggressor have a reasonable expectation that they will pay no legal price, either criminal or civil, for committing the violent act?
Habibi, that is it. Everything outside of the aggressor asking themselves these four questions before taking predatory action—which are calculations little different from those made by wild canines or felines—does not fall into the realm of immediate cause and is therefore unimportant to the violence act itself and will have no bearing on the outcome.
The cold, hard truth is that attacking is a decision made by an aggressor, not the defender. Although educators, law officers and common citizens in Baltimore usually blame the victim, with statements such as “He shouldn’t have been in that area,” or “she should not have been alone,” the actor in a violent crime is the aggressor, not the target. Your slice of pizza is not the actor at your meal, darling, you are.
The violent criminal of postmodern America is not the cipher devoid of agency that social scientists and the media would have us believe, or the mindless animal that conservative law and order advocates and racist right wing commentators would have us think, but rather a real, thinking, reasoning, calculating, opportunistic tester of the moral winds of civilization.
That said, currently, in Central Maryland, here are the predictive factors you may use to ascertain your risk of being the subject of an unprovoked attack. This is a three step process. Simply add the values.
Situation
1. Outside
2. Alone
3. In Baltimore City
4. At night
So, if you are outside, alone, in Baltimore, at night, you have accrued a 10% chance of being attacked simply by this choice.
Proximity To
1. Vacant storefront or house
2. Youths
3. Blacks or cops [if both present they cancel each other out]
4. Males
So, if you are standing in front of a vacant house, near youths, near blacks or cops, but not both, and these blacks or cops are male, then you have doubled your risk of attack to 20%
You Are
1. Not physically imposing
2. Not aware and alert
3. Not a cop
4. A man
5. Black in the presence of cops or white in the presence of blacks
So, if you are a wimp, who is preoccupied, is also not a cop, and is a man, and are also black near cops or white near blacks, then your chances of attack have increased to 35%.
Note:
Since most current violence is not committed to attain cash or property, but simply to injure, humiliate and either video, maim, kill or imprison the target, women are at less risk than men, as their defeat provides the violent thugs or cops with less fulfillment than the demise of a man. In Harm City a beauty queen could walk down the street in a bikini and would not be molested by a single person in the worst of neighborhoods. But a scrawny little guy in a tie with bad eyesight is as good as beaten.
The upside is even if you are a nerd who has made all of the wrong choices you will still be passed over as a crime menu selection most of the time.
The Most Common Predator Prey Matches
From most to least common, are
1. Black youth mob on black youth
2. Black woman on black child
3. Black youth mob on black man
4. Black male on black male
5. Cop on black male
6. Black female on black female
7. Black youth mob on white male
8. Black adult mob on white man
9. Cop on white male
10. Black male youth on white female
All other matches are statistically insignificant, occurring at less than 5%.
The above ratios go out the window during a race purge.
During a riot rare attacks on cops become common and head the list.
Enjoy your stay.
