‘The Reason for Yeoman Anger’
Ishmael, Getting ‘A Snout Full' Before Going On Call

“Great blog article with Sam. Sam pretty much sums up the reason for yeoman anger in Breakfast with the Dirt Cult. I reserved two days to read his book, started at six this morning and still reading. I’m back in rotation on Wednesday. A couple of glasses of bourbon and back to the book—no drinking during on call days, Woodstock and I being the senior on call professionals, get a snout full before going back to the nimrods and “M & Ms,” [management maginas].”
“Again thank you, James, and Sam. You are great writers.”
-Ishmael.
Ishmael, the term yeoman to describe Sam’s perspective is one I wish I would have thought of when reviewing his book. The American Rifleman really is the lineal descendent of the Anglo Saxon Yeoman who slaughtered French Nights for his Norman masters.
Imagine waiting behind your stake with your long bow, sending cloth-yard shafts down range and dropping horses. Then, when that rich armor-plated bastard gets out from under his dying horse and manages to trudge 200 yards in the mud, you can pick up that big maw [a wooden sledge hammer] that you used to hammer in your stake, and knock the shit out of him. Then you can grab the pickaxe you used to prepare your entrenchment and open up that can of frog meat!

Makes me want to go back in time and fight in the Battle of Agincourt. Opening up can of frog meat I like that one. Ishmael
