Philip K Dick had to have been slightly schizophrenic. I know someone exactly like this. He constantly says that things that didn't happen happened. Also he says he knows things he couldn't know or that things have happened before. You could talk to him and he's mostly normal but if you talk to him after a while you realize that his awareness of reality is variable and not reliable.
The guy who's being interviewed I think doesn't really understand this.
Now I will of course contradict myself. I do believe weird things happen. There's a English author who followed stories of reincarnation that to all purposes seem to genuine. Another English author wrote a book on a lot of different psychic stuff. That being said if there's a simple explanation it's probably the answer and time travel is much less likely to be the real truth.
