In this brutal battle of attrition the Carpathian Death demonstrates the importance of smothering leg kicks with long steps and then countering with the overhand or cross to drop the taller kickboxer, who is actually quite good but is not specifically trained to deal with this opponent and is surprised by the power he is tasting and angered by its effect, as he has a good chin and expected better of himself.
It is important that the short man not take direct front kicks to the center line of the stomach and that he not get round kicked to the outside of the weight bearing thigh.
Being a thick-legged mutant with a hammer for a hand helps. In this case the vast height difference favors the short man. The determination of the tall man is commendable. His problem is he is not using his jab, does not seem to realize he is fighting a southpaw, and is using a high shell guard, which, due to his long neck, is permitting the blocked punches of the short man to short circuit his nervous system.
Overall Colin’s biggest flaw is not using a hand span guard and thus giving away reach and reaction time, squandering his vast reach advantage. The tall man should be stiff-arming, side-kicking, foot-jabbing instead of snap-front kicking, and pivoting off to his left away from the left of the Neanderthal mutant with the horseshoe in his glove. His attempts to reach with the right and the jab were ill-advised. His jabs should have been long, low fencing thrusts not plunging punches. When a tall man like this begins boxing with his hands together, low against his body, as we see in the final round, he is usually ready to go.
James you got the colors mixed up!
What would you say is the difference between the foot jab and snap kick? Target area or the literal snap as opposed to push?
The footjab is thrust for position, the snap kick is really a jabbing kick intended to shock and is retracted right away. I don't like eating either, but the foot jab stops me from countering with a punch and is not easy to snake with the hand because the foot is low and in front and not on the side where the arm can pin it to the body.
Really, I got my colors mixed up. No one has said that since I called Tannika Judy at an inopportune moment...
My wife is Romanian. This guy reminds me of her a lot. He might be a little prettier. pretty boy.
James, what do you mean by low fencing thrusts? I have a lot of tall people in my stable and this sounds like something I should be imparting to them.
Posted it, Bro.
Thanks for the question.
