“O' Shaman of Brutality, I invoke your wisdom once again.
“I am not sure if I you have seen this, but I count this as an excellent clip of saber fighting in specific, and blade fighting in general. I especially like the use of the back edge for clearing the blade away, as well as obtaining the high line.
“These two really know their stuff, and big boy can move! I was wondering as to your thoughts.
“In violence we trust,”

These guys are highly skilled and fun to watch.
Notice that the short guy fights low and the tall guy fights high.
There is a fatigue problem with the tall guy, common with thin stick-fighters, where, in boxing we would expect to see the stocky guy gas early.
I would like to see these guys fight without armor, mindful of the fact that the weapons they are using are dull [relatively dull. These blades would still generate bone-pressure cuts like you see in boxing] and were not generally used by armored fighters. In an unarmored fight, the superior mobility of the stocky fighter might be more telling.
I viewed a few more of the videos by these two swordsmen and was impressed with the approach. For knife fighting, the saber seems to have limited utility. However, for stick-fighting there is a lot of apparent crossover value, particularly in regard to roof-blocking and umbrella-blocking and hand countering. The velocity required of the stick demands more effort to be effective than a similar weight blade, so please be mindful that the less intense style of the tall man here would wilt quickly under the kind of pressure seen in a stick fight. The stocky man would, I think, convert 90% of his effectiveness in saber over to stick in his first session—good work.
