Makes Nero A Dull-Axed Pict

I am chained to this computer (finals are this week!!!! the equivalent of watching golf or professional bowling for days on end. Quite hard to yoke the barbarian side of my brain into paying attention!)
I have encountered links that may be of interest to you and your readers
1st one is basically a photo montage that an ex cop turned sociologist did of the interior of an East Baltimore (Eager and Wolfe Street) crack house (since demolished by Hopkins) circa 2001. He captions his photos really well and gives rhyme and reason to the disarray. Like some sorta crackhead anthropologist. Your rural readers who have never been in proximity to such wonders might want to bask in Babylon's splendor vicariously. I used to work for a slum lord doing clean outs and maintenance of such places. His observations are spot on....
Cop in the Hood: Memories of a Baltimore Crack House
One of the nice things about being a police officer is you can explore places that normal people fear to tread (or would get arrested if found).

(Don't know if your readers will care about this one...)I know. I know. John Waters...blah blah blah. You should check this out!!!
Ordered a copy of When You're Food the other day (the new one, good update. You and Franklin make a good writing pair) was skimming through it and saw that interview with Tattoo Rick. Well its funny there's a segment on him and his wife that starts at about the 9:30 mark. My dad used to go there once in awhile. I caught a few bands there in my younger days. The rest of the clip is take or leave it kinda stuff. Mostly cool for the incidental shots of the city, The Block, and Pulaski Highway circa the 80's.

God help us. Look at the waste. Now you look at those trash filled houses and see nothing. I see a brick or stone house with a little gutting, some plaster and wiring and you have a strong long lasting decent home. They don't build stuff like this anymore. These were good solid houses. In Europe they would remodel and live in these things hundreds of years. I see all those houses in Detroit and it just pains me so much at the waste I have heart palpitations. You could take three of those houses. Gut two and live in a real 100% mansion built well beyond anything you could buy today at any sort of reasonable price.
