'Consciousness-Expanding Drugs'
A Man Question from Joel

"James, watching Rogan for some time now, I cannot believe that you are not into consciousness-expanding drugs. Are you? Have you been? Will you be? You seemed critical of Joe's position and admit to drinking. What is up with that?"
-Joel
Nice to hear from you again, Joel.
In Trinity High School there were three guys who did not get high: Randy, Dale and I. The other 150-odd dudes were committed pot heads, stoners or pill-poppers, regardless of economic level. I saw them as weak. And noticing that I was the toughest body, and that Dale and Randy were both 140+ IQ dudes, I came to the conclusion that drugs were for the weak-bodied and weak-minded and determined to strengthen my mind.
I avoided altering my consciousness for most of my life as it was already so out of sync I was at odds with the world 23.9 hours a day to begin with.
I was drugged by friends twice, stoner roommates who slipped stuff into my food once and another time told me I was being given an Exedrin tablet.
The hash brownie experience felt so good, and had me speaking so openly what came to mind—for instance how wonderful Celeste was, as her man sat by fidgeting nervously—that I swore never to do it again, especially when I found out there was no hangover—no price to pay in the morning.
The pill found me sitting on a couch next to some girl who would not shut-up, and I spent hours trying to untie a boot lace to strangler her with, and was unfortunately rendered too uncoordinated to do this and the bitch yet lived in the morning!
I have never taken a pill on faith since.
As far as smoking any compound or plant, ever since I found out that smoke inhalation kills people in house fires, I have not been able to fathom the sense in smoking anything.
I currently use caffeine, ginko, ginsing and other herbal teas to get me writing when I am sleep deprived and exhausted and then use alcohol to knock myself out for my 1 hour and 45 minute nap before going to work. One method I recently used was to pump tea to stay writing until my face hit the desk three times, then crawled into bed, then get up and wrote when my bladder screamed at me. This netted my 13 articles in 24 hours.
As far as expanding my consciousness, I have done that through severe sleep deprivation, staying up for 120 hours in a row, through fighting and through reading and writing. I also plan on writing a first-person fiction piece from the viewpoint of a man who is drunk through the entire story arc, and composing the piece while drunk myself. However, I dread the prospect of editing it.
My experiences dealing with hundreds of drug users have resulted in the following opinions:
Every person at or past the onset of puberty should be allowed to self-medicate to the extent he/she/it desires. I think that confiscated dope should be heaped in mounds at secure locations where people will be allowed to eat, snort, smoke and drink as much as they want, hopefully overdosing.
Pot heads are people who lack serenity and must have outside help to achieve temporary peace-of-mind.
Cigarette addicts cannot handle stress and must suck the pencil-dick of death in order to keep from melting down under everyday pressure.
Alcoholics are assholes or broken people who need to be tranquilized.
Coke heads lack confidence and need a boost in order to engage in fulfilling acts of stupidity, such as getting gangbanged by the football team or getting up on stage.
Pill poppers are really into something else and use pills to amplify or mimic the drug effect they crave.
Psychodelic users lack imagination and need some help from a plant-based or lab-generated friend in order to approach the state of consciousness I wake up, dream and go to sleep in. Note how often Rogan admits to having a hard time "wrapping his head around" "imagining" and "visualizing" the product ejected by the larger brains of Carlson and Hancock. Joe needs his magic mushrooms or he's just another meathead.
Heroin users are slow suicides who could be more practicably helped in their quest with a hollow-point pistol slug.
Crack heads are broken people who should be executed in mass as they are unfixable.
I do not trust drugs of any kind, not even the ones I use. In my mind they are feminine chemicals, the bitch in your pocket, the whore in the plastic bag, the slave girl in that pipe, the manizer at the bottom of the bottle. In the end they will betray you to your worst demons.

Good stuff. The older I get the more libertarian I get when it comes to this stuff. Especially now that our taxes go to paying for narcon that cops use on overdose cases who go right around and do it again.

James, out of sync 23.9 I like that, to me it's like someone left the door open to the insane asylum, and I'm stuck in the damn place, no escape.
