John Mosby carries the name of the greatest partisan of the Confederate States of America who was a blood enemy of George Armstrong Custer during the Civil War. John is an authentic rural rifleman, a type of man who I rate as the lineal cultural descendents of the Native American warriors that their kind fought for hundreds of years. It is fascinating that the real gritty expression of pre-Christian European tribalism is being carried by Americans of recent Christian lineage, with the secular humanist seemingly continuing the separation of the early European ideals from its bloodline. In my view, the primal ideal of life is most lively in America among men of European descent who are simultaneously keeping alive native warrior traditions [deer hunting was not a European tradition] and ancient European values.
I really like the way in which John makes certain to get beyond the rudimentary “in-group” “out-group” idea of tribalism that is the crude construct of post-moderns clutching for a misunderstood past, and speaks on inter-tribal tribalism and gradual decline. John is not some meathead military guy, but an educated historian.
