A few years ago my fighter Oliver called me up late at night while I was working. He was in need of advice about something that had subdued his normally strong, easy voice to a nervous whisper. Two weeks ago he told me that the incident I had advised him on handling was still bothering him and he was headed off to knock on doors and ask some questions. He just sent me a link to a price he is writing on that something that touched him in that chilling way that Fate has of reminding us that she’s the baddest bitch on the planet.
