‘He Stood for Something’
Rebel Yell 117: Breakfast with the Dirt Cult, Samuel Finlay

“This oath culture,” “the oath culture is the gimmick they use to keep your ass in the seat. You’ve sweat and bled for people…on the other side of that oath that don’t believe in those things.”
Those other things are “God and Country” and the “Constitution.”
As a person who always hated society, America specifically, and atheistic liberalism most of all, I was never tempted to join the military, could indeed never find anything I was ever able to believe in, other than combat.
But to hear men [particularly the co-host, who appears to be an unrepentant ghost] who came from a far less cynical background, speak of crawling out from under societal betrayal only to find himself still under the slathering beast, is heart wrenching. The pain in the voice of men who believed, and found out in the worst way that they fought for The Lie, is palpable in this podcast.
