This week, I received a lone of his excellent and out of print book Sam Langford, from Clay Moyle, as well as his books Billy Miske: The St. Paul Thunderbolt and Tony Zale: The Man of Steel, written with Thad Zale, all high quality hardbacks.
Ishmael sent me the antique hardback The Reckless Bred of Men: The Trappers and fur Traders of the Southwest by Robert Glass Cleland.
Nero the Pict mailed me a copy of Command, Nov/Dec 1994, which has an article on the marines in Haiti in 1915, which he sent me as part of my quest for current U.S. adventure news from Robert E. Howard’s lifetime.
And from SS Sam down there in Argentina, somehow still ducking Mosad assassins, came The Rediscovery of Lost America: the Story of the Pre-Columbian Iron Age in America!
I read half the Langford book yesterday, will read up on the marines in Haiti tonight and then I’m on Celtic America!
You know, Eastern Woodland Indians tend to look like half-breeds in most period art. I wonder if this book will shed some light on that.
Thank you all so much for this research material.
PS: I must also thank Latina Lynn for the parcel of handmade soup, rum spices and injury-recovery supplements.
