Mescaline Franklin Resurrects the Man Who Should Have Been the First African American President

AUG/15/16
For all of you young guys, under 40, who only know the hate-filled, angry, black man who blames you for all of his woes, this video clip is indicative of the kind of insight and humor I experienced often in dealing with black men born in the 1940s and 50s, men with a reasonable view of life, who hoped white people would not hate them, rather than assert that white people cannot help but hate them due to some racial defect in the Caucasian genome. What was even more impressive is I used to be able to work with blacks who hated me and who did not believe I didn’t hate them—yet still we made common cause to get the job done. Today, I would be ousted or he would “go off” and get arrested and fired. The clip below preserves some of the nuance that has been ruthlessly scrubbed from public discourse on race today.
Thank you, Mescaline.
