The police are scouring Harm City for Daryl Anderson ‘high-ranking member' of the Black Gorilla Family. Daryl, henceforth No. 1, has pled guilty to robbery and stabbing charges and is wanted in connection with a number of shootings and home invasions, primarily victimizing women. Looking much more like his gang’s namesake than his leader, Commander Booty Master, No. 1 has dreadlocks, an upturned pig nose and forehead tattoos. I have seen this guy on the bus twice in Parkville, a city-county neighborhood he frequents, and actually thought he was a model thug, just quiet and menacing, no loud boasting or aggressive behavior.
No. 1 is thought to be an enforcer, contract killer, and stash-house bandit [see Omar Little on HBOs The Wire]. He is only 25, and has recently shot and killed a 31-year-old-man outside of Tee Bee’s bar [3 miles from where I sit] and a 20-year-old woman on a city porch, wounding two other females in the process. Unlike many shooters, No. 1 is not afraid to stick it to you with the shank. He stabbed a bouncer at Club K in February 2011. No 1. is known for such graceless networking skills as taking off his shirt at a club, walking onto the dance floor, and punching out the male half of couple. [I suppose this is a BGF initiation ritual.] For the various crimes to which No. 1 has pled guilty, he has done very little time, and seems to be feeling bullet proof just now.
Law enforcement officials have repeatedly used the media in recent calls for grass roots assistance, for help in bringing Harm City thugs to justice. Two officials have recently confided in media interviews that Baltimore residents are hiding and protecting No. 1 and other fugitives, in an act of racial solidarity.
No. 1 has been at large for more than a year, apparently safe in the heart of his criminal community.
