This Rubin character has a less emotive stance than Molyneux that really appeals to me. His discussion of the media motives beginning at 14:00 and his specific discussion of the current Dindu riots around 16:00 are excellent. I like his evocation of Carl Sagan’s dictum on extraordinary claims requiring extraordinary proof. I understand Rubin stops short of the honor and morality that our readers tend to value, but he walks the centerline with a clarity that is valuable. I also like the fact that Rubin is a willing illustration of the linkage between Liberalism and Libertarianism, and the fact that as an honest, liberal, homo, he comes off in the current context as being solidly centrist, which makes him a good measure of how far society has tilted to the Left.
At 29:00 Stefan’s discussion of religion and “grabbing the only gun in the room” represents one of his more concise discussions of ideology and The State, with Rubin responding by expanding the discourse. At 40:00 Stefan’s discussion of power junkies was excellent. This is possibly the best discussion to date on this YouTube channel, the subtext of which is the purpose and direction of this channel.
