...who shot at Police Patrol
-Jeremy Bentham
“About two dozen government officials and police officers gathered Friday afternoon at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's North District headquarters to condemn the recent attacks on city police stations.
“The media event offered little in the way of new information about the hail of bullets fired at the police station at 3120 E. 30th St. late Thursday. IMPD Chief Troy Riggs declined to elaborate on security measures, such as whether all stations are outfitted with surveillance cameras, citing concerns about making security measures public.
“But Riggs, Mayor Joe Hogsett and U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler said they were prepared to use city, state and federal resources to investigate the shootings.
“The large showing of officials at the news conference underscored the concerns about safety after the second police station attack. The first came on Oct. 4, when someone fired shots at the Northwest District headquarters. Officials on Friday reiterated that they believe the two shootings are related.”
