Bill, the receiver at the Ghetto Depot, was opening up the back door in the morning while it was still dark. Two men in masks with guns rushed in and he ran like hell, out of the stockroom, through the store, and through the glass panel of the front door, and called 911.
The masked men then beat down the meat cutter. They also dragged the female bakery clerk into and down the frozen food aisle and beat her ‘badly’ enough that she required hospitalization. Her jewelry was taken, but there was no attempt to rob the store.
Both employees were hospitalized, and the police made no arrests.
The employee that gave me the tip thinks that this attack was in retaliation for the recent firing of seven hood-rat employees, three of whom were running a loan-sharking ring that preyed on, among others, a handicapped parcel pickup clerk, charging 300% interest on money loaned for cigarettes.
As a general note: I know of three recent newspaper stories involving men assaulting women in Baltimore City, allegedly at the request of other women—two of these incidents being shootings. Perhaps the Ghetto Depot raid above was an expression of this new form of feminine conflict resolution.
