Note that in this sloppy, nerdish mess, that the use of shields by many of these participants far exceeds the skill level of the so-called experts on The Deadliest Warrior. Note the power of punching with the shield edge and imagine taking that hit without a full helm. The armor does degrade the blade work and makes teamwork and football tactics more useful. Recalling the riots in Kiev two years ago, it seems that many of the right wingers had experience in this sport.
