Retailers Panic: 63% Of Americans Plan Not To Shop On Black Friday
The gild is off the lily. This trend is not too surprising. People have discovered that the Black Friday “deals” aren’t what they are purported to be. Plus people are broke after eight years of the Obama economy. On top of that there’s online shopping now; you can do that in your underwear. At first Black Friday was a novelty, a reason to get out of the house and see something different after the Thanksgiving family gathering . But by now the liabilities have come to outweigh the benefits (such that “Black” Friday has come to have a double meaning for many). Spend time with your family? Come on, be real! Nobody knows how to irritate you like your own family does. Nobody has less hesitation about doing so either, do they? So for a lot of us, after we’ve spent a day in the same house getting reacquainted with the foibles of all our various nuclear and extended family members, we’re ready to see something different. LOL!

Where do you draw the line in accommodating the demands of different cultures for exclusion from long standing rules? With the Muslims, their rules, rules that come from “Allah”, mean everything. Your rules, rules that come from men, mean nothing. The Arab fable tells us not to let the camel stick even the end of his nose into the tent, because inch by inch the camel will surreptitiously move in until he occupies the entire tent and you are on the outside. Muslims are very good at this style of “entryism” (it’s their fable after all). They are good at playing to the sympathies of our pluralistic society. What’s the harm, eh? Once the Muslims are in charge, however, it’s their way or the highway, infidel!
Black Friday is a nightmare. Why anyone would subject themselves to that kind of abuse is above my comprehension. Doesn't everyone know they have one crate on sale and all the rest is just slightly marked down?
I have gone after Black Friday to shop for summer clothes. Great deal. I buy winter coats in the spring.
