Of the many emails I received this week, this is my favorite, from one of my Wyoming guides, Shayne the Brain. My answer to Shayne's question, which is significantly unasked by most, is that while a serious author of even the weirdest fiction must infuse more reality than fantasy to produce the effect of 'suspension of disbelief' required for an intelligent reader's enjoyment of the taletall or smallthe postmodern media priest reports on the lowest possible common denominator as a way of inoculating the masses against any 'redemption of meaningful belief,' which would necessarily negate his false importance.
Looking through "news" this morning and came across a headline where a woman was being sued by her embryos. WTF??? Emma somebody (Hollywood type) ex boyfriend pushing the issue. Bottom line, has journalism reach the bottom yet? Are we in hell having to "report" on such horseshit as this. Yeeee gods! Is any kind of reality of worth left in this two bit world that is news worthy? What is news? What is sensationalism? What are our kids and grand kids supposed to believe is worth reading or just hype? James, you do add day-to-day reality to your mind-blowing fiction. Thank you for not suing your many long lost loves for their embryos.
Peace bro
