‘He Has My Baton’
Why Female Security and Batons in Amateur Hands are a Bad Idea

The use of a baton should never involve you holding it away from your body. Your elbow and or hand should be against your body or your baton hand should be on your shoulder. Your weapon should be closer to your core and your power points [hip, elbow, shoulder, top of head] than to antagonistic hands.
You shoulder never get between two antagonists.
If you find yourself between two antagonists, you must immediately improve your situation by putting one between you and the other[s].
The stick is among the worst defensive weapons.
Whatever type of baton this is it gives tactile purchase to the enemy. A combat baton should have a friction-taped and lariated grip and a slick, polished business end.
In the hands of people who are not competition-level stick-fighters it is also not an effective offensive weapon.
The female security person was not even considered enough of a threat to be beaten. They just worked around her.
The security man with the beard actually cries after being beaten. What truly became of the Vikings?

This seems to go against the theory in the cold selection article. Here we have passive swedes from the colder climate stupidly let their country be invaded by more aggressive groups from the warmer climate and then suffer the very predictable consequences.

Actually, this is the meat of his theory, that cold selection produces the Vikings as aggressive geniuses resulting from group selection under tough environmental pressures and spread their genes and influence around the world, then their descendants become overspecialized individual selection dysgenic cry babies who cry when they get hit—well, I tweaked it a little. But his idea was cyclic, not lineal, which is something we usually see in wealthy families: go getter builds an empire, his son barely manages to maintain it and his grandson gets high and squanders the family fortune.

We also see the result of colonial empires like the Brits and the French conquering a tropical or subtropical place then allowing immigration and then ending up threatened in their own nation.

Fascinating. It’s interesting to note that 150 years ago the police forces in cities like New York, Baltimore, New Orleans and London were expected to keep the peace with ONLY batons. Of course in those days the cops would go offensive in a heartbeat whenever anyone interfered with them, lest they get swarmed and overpowered like these security guards. They weren’t paid to be timid and retriing. In all fairness, we should note that the cops back then got their ass kicked a lot of times too. Criminal gangs ruled many sections of our major cities in those days. So unless we want to return to those conditions of yesteryear we need to empower our police to go medieval on the hooligans. The Swedish security guards obviously were burdened with a weapon they weren’t ALLOWED to use, much less KNEW how to use. On top of that they were being videotaped, so they knew their every action would be reviewed, second-guessed and impugned by all kinds of people who weren’t on their side. In that case it would be more moral to take a beating and play the victim yourself than to risk hurting one of those oppressed youth. Notice that the faces of the African gatecrashers were electronically masked by the producers of the video, as if showing their faces while they were committing assault and battery on train station security guards would be an invasion of their privacy. Which shows were the sympathies of the powers-that-be lie. Obviously the Swedish security forces are not accustomed to confronting people who are willing to commit acts of violence when they’re stone-cold sober. It's a frightening and disconcerting experience for them. By the way James, the ideal style of combat baton you describe is still made by Safariland/ Monadnock: safariland.com/products/less-lethal/batons/rigid-batons. It’s their straight polycarbonate baton. Check out their 26” NYPD polycarbonate baton. The polycarbonate baton is very hard and durable and has a slick, shiny surface, while the handle is coated with foam rubber and has a slide adjustable lanyard. A great idea for a Christmas gift, eh?
