Hang a car tire in your yard or stack some in your basement, and beat that retired radial hard, every day, without swinging the damned thing, but rather chopping. Do this until you almost get a blister and then stop.

Tip: On every third stroke slash through the target and stiff arm it with your empty hand as your stick hand passes under your empty arm to your hip.
