‘Just Folks’
Ursula Ricks Project - Tobacco Road (Ursula's original)
© 2017 James LaFond
JAN/2/17
I’ve been a blues fan for a long time, and since this nice lady gave me a big hug on the sidewalk in front of the mansion in disguise I lurk within on White Avenue this past New Years day I thought I’d pass on a link to one of her original songs.
After meeting Ursula at a dinner party a couple years ago, I listened to the CD her Tobacco Road song appears on while I compiled The Streets Have Eyes and Panhandler Nation books.
I particularly enjoyed listening to Ursula’s music this weekend, while drinking my first beer in a month and watching Russians stomping the piss out of Muslim immigrants in Minsk—there was just something deliciously dichotomous about the experience.
Thanks, Ursula.
