More than 40 percent of people in Maryland affected by heroin use
“The latest numbers from the state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene show that through September 2016, more than 900 people died from a heroin-related overdose, while 534 died in all of 2015. With fentanyl-related deaths, 192 people died in 2015, and through September 2016, more than 730 people died.”
