BALTIMORE —
Police are investigating a sex assault reported early Tuesday morning in northeast Baltimore.
City police said officers were called around 1:30 a.m. to the 5700 block of Loch Raven Boulevard, where a 58-year-old woman was approached from behind by a man who assaulted her physically and sexually. The man then took money and jewelry before leaving, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Police described the man as black, about 30 years old, 6 feet tall with a slim build. The man was last seen wearing a tan jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-396-2076 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
Jeremy, I am impressed that a description included the attacker's race, which tells me that the victim in this mixed race neighborhood was black and insisted that the police broadcast the description of her attacker. Women in this age group walking at night will be blacks and Latinas returning from wait-staff jobs at eateries, known to have tip money in their purse even in the middle of the week.

Jeremy, most barbershop men pack a gun to discourage violence, which is why, if you want to hit a man in a barber shop you have to have multiple gunmen. This was really an excellent piece of work on the part of the shooters.

The uptick in stabbings each of the last three years is largely due to a Latino influx of crime in the areas to the south and east of Baltimore. However I-in-3 Dindus now carries a blade.
