Fascinating interview of Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater. He was taking a chance in submitting to an interview by the Fake News Network; it was very likely they would ambush him and seek to demonize him. Nevertheless he presents himself very well.
He doesn’t have anything good to say about his former customers, the U.S. Department. Not surprising, given how ungrateful they have proven to be. The career State Department personnel are predominantly Leftist ideologues, as such they HATE all soldiers (jingoistic myrmidons) on general principles and particularly despise those they regard as "mercenaries”. Nevertheless, the State Department’s betrayal of Blackwater is breathtaking. The State Department personnel I had occasion to speak with in Iraq really, really liked the fact that the Blackwater personal security detachments (PSD) were a bunch of bad-asses who WOULD fight ferociously and ruthlessly to protect the people under their protection. As such U.S. diplomats in Iraq and Afghanistan had much less reason to fear being held hostage and terrorized for 14 months, like some 52 of their predecessors at the U.S. Embassy in Iran 1979-80, or being decapitated, and have a video of their murders go viral on the internet to further torment their families, as in the cases of Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg.
In the end though, advancing the Leftist narrative and maintaining hatred for a class enemy took precedence over the actual facts and common decency in recognizing someone who did you a good turn. So Blackwater was “thrown under the bus”, sacrificed for the greater good of helping the State Department signal its Leftist virtue and maintain its Leftist bona fides. Lesson learned: never smile at a crocodile. Well what happens to State Department diplomats is no longer Erik Prince’s lookout. He has left the private security contractor business completely. Still we can expect the Left and their willing accomplices in the news and entertainment media to continue resurrecting Erik Prince and the long defunct Blackwater as convenient boogeymen, just as they do with the KKK and the Nazis. In the case of Blackwater though any such comparisons are unjust and spurious.
Prince’s suggestions for handling the migrant crisis in Europe would probably work. Which is why they will not be considered. At least not by the globalist regimes currently in power in Europe.

Fighting wars in the most expensive, protracted and stupid way possible is not a bug from the perspective of the elite. It's a feature.
That money goes to their own companies, and the huge black budgets allow for all sorts of fun projects under the radar.
An external enemy gives the despised patriotic middle classes someone to focus their hate on.
Sending those guys like Eric Prince to get their ass blown off in Tal Afar keeps you safe from them in DC and NYC. "If we weren't fighting them over there, we'd be fighting them over here" is right, except that the "them" is not Muslim terrorists-WE were the them.
And of course the amoral 10-20% of those guys can be used to kill dissidents and do other dirty work-they just don't give a shit, and those overseas wars give them plenty of practice at dissociating/rationalizing.

What does Prince do with his life now?
In having met many SEALs and reading about them in Dick Couch's "The Warrior Elite," they tend to be patriotic white men from middle class backgrounds. They believe the stuff they were taught about duty to the nation from their parents and see the nation as they saw their hometowns: nice, white, and middle class. They don't know as much about the liberal coasts where Diversity is the most important thing and so are oversees wars where we get the money flowing into the right pockets. It's easy to see how Prince would fall into the trap of thinking the politicians and diplomats were worth blood and treasure protecting. Also, war is all Prince knows.
