The eighth rule: Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.
The ninth rule: The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.
The tenth rule: The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.
-Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals 1971, Tactics p. 129
“A reformation means that masses of our people have reached the point of disillusionment with past ways and values. They don’t know what will work but they do know that the prevailing system is self-defeating, frustrating, and hopeless. They won’t act for change, but won’t strongly oppose those who do. The time is then ripe for revolution.” – Saul Alinsky
The lines of demarcation for Civil War II are starting to define themselves. Will it escalate from the current “cold war”, a low intensity conflict, to an open shooting war?
The uniform of the opposition to President trump is the pink “pussy hat”. Doesn’t that just say it all?
The Trump opponents have outed themselves as being anti-democratic. They lost the election fair and square, yet they are unwilling to accept the results. They threaten violence if they don’t get their way.
This is right out of the Leftist playbook. The “turba divina” (divine mob) as it is called in Latin America. If you can’t win the election legally by earning more votes than the opposition, you overturn it by force, by mob action and intimidation. As much as someone wearing a pink pussy hat can be intimidating I imagine.
The same thing happened on a smaller, yet no less vitriolic, scale in Wisconsin in 2010 with the election of Republican Governor Scott Walker. The Left mobbed the Wisconsin capital, Madison, the same way they are mobbing Washington D.C. now. They opposed Walker as vehemently as they oppose Trump, for much the same reason, beascsue he is a reformer. Walker proposed reforms that while making the state solvent and able to pay all its debts and pensions, would at the same time break the power of the Left to control the political discourse in the state. Eventually after the Left lost the recall election of Walker and nearly election and major vote in the legislature following that, they quieted down considerably. The Leftist agitators will go away eventually if you stand up to them. They are persistent though, you have to give them credit for that.
The Alinsky school of Leftist political agitation (of which Obama and Hillary were students) relies heavily on pressure tactics. Alinsky, a criminologist by education, developed his doctrine by hanging out with Chicago gangsters of the Prohibition era and studying their extortion methods. These tactics have been very effective over the years, especially if the target of them is unware of the tactics used against him and further, imagines that his opponents are bargaining in good faith and will leave him alone if he gives in to them on the “one thing”. However like any tactic it becomes less effective as your opposition becomes more familiar with what your are doing and why you are doing it. Just as in MMA, once the fighters from other martial arts became more familiar with the tactics and techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), the BJJ fighters became less dominant in the sport. Now it’s the strikers coming to the fore.
Likewise the Left is finding out to their collective dismay that the Right wing is becoming much more activist and much more willing to push back. President trump in particular has proven to be an “invasive species” in the American political environment the predatory Left has proven unable to deal with. Nothing they do to take him out works. Which would imply that if the Progressive Left/Globalists get frustrated and desperate enough they might start an actual war.
