Joyce and her husband, Gary, who is a Baltimore City Police Officer [and, like most of his coworkers, refuses to live in Baltimore], live in a Baltimore County mansion with their infant daughter, her parents, who own a chain of restaurants and their Chinese butler. There is more than enough room to go around. Gary really liked the arrangement, because he works a lot of overtime fighting crime in Harm City and he now has a relaxing home to repair to for decompression. This also places his family in a secure location, 10 miles from the nearest high crime area.
Joyce recently discovered that their mail box is being robbed, and that the mail boxes of everyone in this rarified enclave are being cleaned out.
Gary was furious—at first wanted to put a rattlesnake in the mail box, but decided on staking it out with a camera instead. His blood pressure now fails to drop when he gets home from work as he prowls the perimeter and drives through the neighborhood on patrol, having unwittingly hit upon the solution to keeping such crime as home invasions at bay in an elite area of a municipality which does not recognize home invasions as a crime, but reclassifies them to less violent designations.
Most municipalities larger than a small sheriff’s office are in the process of downplaying crime, reclassifying violent crimes as non-violent and otherwise playing along with the utopian dream of veiled anarcho-Tyranny. In the once and future America neighborhoods will not be able to protect their streets or their front doors without resident combatant men and/or uniformed security on patrol. Urban and suburban policing has always been a veiled lie, a veil now made of gossamer.
It is past time to wake up for the End Time.
Don’t let the Apocalypse kickoff without you, paleface!
A Once Great Medieval City: 2016: Impressions of Baltimore Maryland
This is the reason I walk my dog so often at night. I want to see what the local deadbeats are up to.
..... Driven to bay, he turns fiercely on his persecutors and makes a desperate effort to chase the whole pack of them from the land, to clear the air of their swarming multitudes, that he may breathe more freely and go on his way unmolested, at least for a time... They think that if they can only shake off these, their accursed tormentors they will make a fresh start to in life, happy and innocent; the tales of Eden and the old poetic age will come true again.
