According to , Pétard comes from the Middle French péter, to break wind, from the root pet, expulsion of intestinal gas, derived from the Latin peditus, past participle of pedere, to break wind. In modern French, a pétardis a firecracker (and it is the basis for the word for firecracker in several other European languages). Shakespeare in Hamlet Act 3, Scene 4, has Hamlet use the phrase, “hoist with his own petard,” to mean, “defeated/blown up with their own plan/bomb.” A petard is a small bomb that was once used to blow up gates and walls when breaching them.

Here are some modern cases of people being hoisted by their own petards.

The “Day Without Immigrants” protest in the US, by illegals demanding amnesty and slack/zero immigration enforcement, led to many illegals losing their jobs for skipping the day of work to protest. It seems over 100 workers lost their jobs; migrants supporting the replacement of US workers with their cheap labour, will now be replaced. Probably by more cheap migrant labour, but it is a start: .

Not that I would ever gloat about anyone’s misery, being basically a nice guy, but this story needs to be on our list: .

Maria Ladenburger, the daughter of a high-ranking EU official, was returning from a party in the university city of Freiburg in Germany when she was assaulted on a cycle path, raped and then drowned. Her body was then tossed in to the river Dreisam. An Afghan immigrant admitted to the rape and murder. The migrant arrived in Germany last year as an unaccompanied minor and lived with a local family in the city.

The victim spent her spare time working in refugee homes in Freiburg. The dead girl's father is Dr. Clemens Ladenburger, a lawyer who works as the right hand man to the legal director of the European Commission, an organisation dedicated to mass immigration to Europe.

Then there is co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Toronto, Yusra Khogali, who recently made headlines by saying that white people suffer from “recessive genetic defects.” Actually this is true for all races, but what she really said was “white ppl are recessive genetic defects”: .

Now anyone with a scientific training could easily knock this one over, but, study the photographs of Ms Khogali. She appears to be of mixed race, and to have some white genes. And what are those genes? Recessive genetic defects.

Perhaps she is engaging in self-parody, or maybe she really does believe it. How does she feel about the white skin on the soles of her feet? Does she hate that too?

Two groups of youths had been planning a race riot in Federation Square, on the ironically named “White Night,” which it is anything but. Police using their new whiz-bang hi-tech crime-fighting hub, got word of the proposed fight, and came in force to stop it. The groups were truly multicultural, a “United nations of groups,” although “Disunited” would be a better word – Asian, Middle Eastern, African, you name it, engaging in friendly debate about the joys of diversity.

At first I thought all of this was from some B-Grade kung fu movie, or maybe footage from last week’s The Walking Dead episode, where leader Rick Grimes had to fight, Mad Max style, in a zombie apocalypse gladiatorial arena. But, no, this is all real, and is set to get more real.

One day, the reality which we are seeing in Europe will come to the streets in the green leafy suburbs. Time to wake in fright.
