Man arrested in Annapolis shooting early Saturday

Annapolis police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting early Saturday.
City police said officers were called around 4:55 a.m. for a shooting in a house in the 500 block of Annapolitan Lane. Police said officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital.
Police said officers spotted another man running away near Annapolis Walk and Belle drives. Police said the man threw a handgun on the ground as officers approached him.
Police arrested the man, identified as Miguel Chacon Mendez, 28, of Annapolis. He was charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder and other charges.
