The following story from 2013 I could have sketched in great detail but didn't want to get the lady killed. She had bruises from arm-dragging, punching and choking which I did not ask her about, but when she saw me looking she said, "Oh, they're from the new boyfriend."
This is a case that may yet be under investigation. I can only say that it occurred in a Maryland municipality in broad daylight, during the week.
Darlene was sitting in a borrowed car on the parking lot of a retail establishment. She was waiting for her boyfriend to finish his business in one of the stores.
Another young man stopped by and began to chat with her.
Her boyfriend came out of the store, glanced at her, and walked off the lot.
About fifteen minutes later, Darlene was still sitting in the car, talking to the "boy" who was "chatting" her "up."
Her boyfriend walked up and shot the boy multiple times and then walked off. The boy died.
Darlene was held for questioning by local police. She was terrified of what her boyfriend might do. She did her best "not to snitch." As far as she knows her boyfriend has not been arrested, tried or convicted. He is also now her former boyfriend, a person she lives in dread of. She gave me no indication as to whether this fear of her former boyfriend has any bearing on her continued relationship with a young man who beats her, severely.
After she boarded her bus I threw her phone number, written on the back of a pack of matches, in the trashcan at the bus stop where I made her acquaintance.

I’ve read and re-read this over and over again, trying to make some kind of sense out of it. I know from personal experience, that some women just bring the worst out in a guy. Add that to the fact that some women are attracted to violent psychos, and then mix it all up and throw them both into a violent culture and environment, and I conclude that there’s no sense whatsoever to be gleaned, other than life is chaos, and her dad was most likely a violent criminal.
This young lady was not very intelligent, to be gracious.
