Perhaps she thought that it was just a nightmare. But, no, it was not. A Melbourne woman woke up to find her bed surrounded by five African men, armed with sharpened wooden stakes and machetes:
They threatened to kill her if she did not give them money. So, they cleaned her out, including stealing her car. What! No rape and dismemberment! Couldn’t their stakes have at least been on fire?
The problem generating these gangs, we are told by the new class, is white racism. Racism, racism everywhere, and not a drop of agency and personal responsibility. It is like some weird and twisted Grimm brothers’ tale, only grimmer:
Being a Bad Man in a Worse World
Fighting Smart: Boxing, Agonistics & Survival
Grimms fairy stories were a staple of my infancy (thanks to my dearly mourned mother). They were invariably imbued with high moral values; goodness celebrated and evil reviled. Malefactors got their comeuppance. These days the Grimms would never find a publisher. Hate-mongers have no place in our inclusive, loving society.
N.b.: One of the original tales got censored, but that's a story in itself. A certain group with a powerful presence in publishing wasn't pleased, and that was over a century ago, when speech was much freer.
