An interesting post on Vox Day’s website. A reader asks VD to describe his vison of the "ideal world”, and in particular “what would become of the black people in the coming years”. Presumably meaning how does VD envision an independent white nation dealing with blacks in its midst? VD didn’t take the bait. He says he doesn’t have a vision or a plan. Why should he have a plan? He’s just a Sci-Fi writer and video game designer after all. Even if he did have a plan for an “endlosung” , a final solution, why would he tell anybody about it now and risk bringing heat down on himself unnecessarily? Besides Right-wingers typically don’t make long range plans. They are mostly reactive, reacting and pushing back against the drastic changes to their lives that the Left seeks to inflict on them. The Left on the other hand is all about long range, “scientific” plans for the future. The Left in America has had plans for imprisoning their political opponents in gulags for at least the past 50 years now. Every once in a while Leftists will hold a get-together where they gleefully discuss how they intend to punish the people they don’t like after they’ve seized total power.

By his phrasing, one must surmise that Huggums is fishing for some reassurance that when the breakup of the country occurs it won’t be a bloody mess. VD gives him none. Of course. Because VD is correct in stating that what we want, what we might prefer to see happen is irrelevant. What’s going to happen is going to happen. Just as it has played out in other countries throughout history. When the breakup occurs there is liable to be massive ethnic cleansing throughout the country, both voluntary and involuntary. This is going to happen because the Leftist powers-that-be allowed people from so may diverse ethnic and religious groups to settle in the country and imbued them with pernicious senses of grievance and entitlement to boot. Diversity + Proximity = War. American exceptionalism won’t change that. Yes, America is exceptional and unique among the countries of the world. For one thing the USA is the oldest surviving democracy; it is among most politically stable countries in the world since it has been under the same system of government, the same constitution, for 230 years. Few other soverign nation states in the world can make this claim (like San Marino). Certainly there are few large, multi-ethnic countries in the world that have held together as long as the USA has. However America’s exceptionalism doesn’t make it immune to the same historical and demographic forces that shaped other countries. As much as anything else we’ve been lucky so far. Blessed even.

The lesson of the internecine armed conflicts of the past, from the American Civil War to the Jugoslav secession wars, is that once the shooting starts you must pick a side. There will be no staying neutral as neither side will have any use for you or offer you any protection if you try. Plus, in the race war, your skin is your uniform.
