Yes, how realistic is the threat of a North Korean electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the United States?
The fact is nobody knows for certain. The actual effect the EMP from a suborbital nuclear explosion over the USA would have on the country’s power grid is largely theory and speculation. It will remain so until such an attack actually occurs. What we do know about the effect of the EMP produced by a nuclear explosion was gathered from the data collected on above ground nuclear tests conducted before the Test-Ban Treaty of 1963, long before the invention of the computer microchip. The old vacuum tube electronics of the 1940’s and ‘50’s were resistant to damage from the EMP. So it’s hard to realistically extrapolate what the damage to modern electronics would be over a broad area from a suborbital nuclear airburst. What would the yield of the bomb have to be to cause significant damage and what would the optimum altitude be for maximum effect?
Keep in mind that before the very first atomic bomb was detonated all sorts of smart people were making all manner of different predictions on the outcome. Some said it wouldn’t work at all and others predicted the chain reaction of a nuclear explosion would consume the entire earth. Likewise the effect of an EMP attack on America might not be as damaging as postulated or it could be every bit as bad as we feared.
Also it remains to be seen if North Korea even has the capability to pull off such a strike. Based on its most recent missile and nuke tests it appears that NK is still a long way off from developing the necessary technical acumen. At the rate it is progressing it probably won’t have it for some years to come. However, that is not something we can take for granted, as NK could possibly get technical assistance from another rogue power and make an unexpected leap ahead. Regardless though, America probably won’t be able to summon the political will to do anything unless and until it IS attacked .
“It is a doctrine of war not to assume the enemy will not come, but rather to rely on one’s readiness to meet him; not to presume he will not attack, but rather to make oneself invincible.” – Sun Tzu, “The Art of War”, 500 B.C.
“In practice we always base our preparations against an enemy on the assumption that his plans are good; indeed, it is right to rest our hopes not on a belief in his blunders, but on the soundness of our provisions. Nor ought we to believe that there is much difference between man and man, but to think that the superiority lies with him who is reared in the severest school.” – Thucydides, History of the Peloponnesian War, 404 B.C.

“Get there first with the most.”
- Nathan Bedford Forrest
“If the enemy is to be coerced, you must put him in a situation that is even more unpleasant than the sacrifice you call on him to make. The hardships of the situation must not be merely transient – at least not in appearance. Otherwise, the enemy would not give in, but would wait for things to improve.”
- Karl Von Clausewitz, “On War”
"You can be killed just as dead in an unjustified war as you can in one protecting your own home."
- Will Rogers, American Humorist, 1879-1935
Interesting. It appears the U.S. Armed Forces’ air and sealift capability has been allowed to atrophy precipitously. Does it need to be fixed or would that just provide greater temptation for the Government to get involved in another fruitless military adventure in the other side of the world?
“Transportation Command commander Air Force General Darren McDew told the Senate Armed Services Committee that America doesn't have enough supply ships, transport planes and tanker planes to move a large combat force to a distant battlefield (like Korea) and sustain that force.”
If that is the case then perhaps America should abandon any notion of fighting a major ground war in Korea or at least confine our commitment to such a conflict to one we can support with our available transportation assets. After all South Korea is not as helpless as it was in 1950. It should be able to take on North Korea largely on its own without a lot of US ground support. America should decide where its vital interests really lie now in the post-cold war 21st Century and what it will be willing to do and what price it will be willing to pay to protect them. We should do this well before we start spending any more money on defense. Money that we don’t have any more. America is broke. It owes more money than anybody has ever owed anybody else in the history of the world. Plus it has become clear our political leadership lacks the will to win a war. On the top of all that America is in the midst of its own domestic, low-intensity civil war, wherein the political position is actively seeking to depose the serving President. How could such a disunited country expect to effectively prosecute a major foreign war? Best to mind our knitting and build the wall. Let rest of the world fend for themselves.

MEHEL: Mobile High Energy Laser. The new Stryker AFV mounted Anti-UAV Defense.
Looks like the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Branch of the Army finally has a job again at the tactical level: shooting down enemy drones. The ADA has not had much to do since WWII because the U.S. Air Force has done too good a job destroying enemy air forces before they can get anywhere near American ground troops. The proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), more commonly known as drones, has changed all of that. Now even the Islamic insurgents U.S. Forces face in the Middle-East are using commercial drones. Mostly for reconnaissance, but occasionally to deliver a bomb.

False Flags
Another case of media narrative collapse when the truth comes out. Strictly speaking Steve Sailer is correct, such hate crime hoaxes by rights ought to be prosecuted as hate crimes themselves since they are intended to foment hatred against Christian white people, as much as to gain undeserved sympathy for the hoaxer and his identity group.
But then again all hate crime legislation is anti-white bigotry and ought to be repealed. In practice it is invoked only against white offenders.
Should False Flag Hate Hoaxes be Prosecuted as Hate Crimes?
Special Operations is cutting the cord and getting satellite service. Imagine being able to use OnStar to call in airstrikes. I’ll bet that would sell.

Shin Bet - Solve The Puzzle To Get In - Strategy Page
Solve the puzzle and get a cyber war job with the Shin Bet. All the military and security services in the western world have such the same problem in that the people with the skills and attributes they want the most generally don’t want to join them. Those sought after prospects have too many other career options. Plus being a member of the police and military is seen as uncool by most western youth. Now in authoritarian / totalitarian countries on the other hand being a member of the secret police is seen as being a good career move. Good pay, and lots of benefits and perquisites. Even if your neighbors think you suck for joining up they sure won’t tell you so to your face. That’s ‘Senior’ community security organizer to you comrade citizen…now show me your papers.
FYI: The principle intel players in Isrаel =
Shin Bet: a Hebrew abbreviation for שירות הביטחון הכללי Šerut ha-Bitaẖon haKlali "General Security Service"; the Isrаeli internal security and counter-espionage service. Similar in function to Britain’s MI5, the USA’s FBI and Russia’s FSB.
Mossad: (Hebrew: הַמוֹסָד, IPA: [ha moˈsad]; Arabic: الموساد, al-Mōsād, IPA: [almoːˈsaːd]; literally meaning "the Institute"), short for HaMossad leModiʿin uleTafkidim Meyuḥadim (Hebrew: המוסד למודיעין ולתפקידים מיוחדים, meaning "Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations"), is the national foreign intelligence agency of Isrаel. Similar in function to Britain’s MI6, the USA’s CIA and Russia's GRU.
Aman: The Directorate of Military Intelligence (Hebrew: אגף המודיעין, Agaf HaModi'in – lit. "the Intelligence Section"; Arabic: شعبة الاستخبارات العسكرية), often abbreviated to Aman (Hebrew: אמ"ן; Arabic: آمان), is the central, overarching military intelligence body of the Isrаel Defense Forces.

Update from the ‘Stan.
The summer fighting season is getting off to a good start. ISIL in the 'Stan has taken huge losses in fights with Afghan Government/ US forces, as well with the Taliban and even local tribes. Jihadi on Jihadi violence. Afghans are cashing in on the drug trade and foreign aid, but any Afghan with education and skills is looking to cash out and leave the country. Afghanistan opium production is up 43 percent from 2015. A record 4,800 tons in 2016. Afghanistan reportedly produces 80 percent of the world supply of opium now. What is the heroin distribution in the USA? Most of the heroin and meth in the Midwest comes from Mexico. Much of the heroin outside the big cities is sold by Mexicans and marketed to white people exclusively (among other considerations whites are less inclined to rob solitary Mexican dealers than blacks). Where is the junk from the 'Stan making landfall in America? How is it distributed throughout the interior of the country? Don’t count out Canada either. For example most of the ecstasy on the market is reportedly made in the Netherlands and smuggled into the USA across the Canadian border. Lots of pot grown in Canada is smuggled into the Northwest (i.e. the “B.C. bud”). Oh, and lets not forget that back some 50 years ago the “French Connection” went through Montreal before terminating in NYC.
