Our Forefathers
Confessions of a Reluctant Baby Boomer

MAY/25/17
Our forefathers built this city that we fled, let burn, let decay.
Our forefathers were born in the lean times and brought us into the fattest age man has been born to and we smoked dope, popped pills, snorted coke, shot heroin, smoked crack—and its gone, the greatest treasure chest left to a generation looted for a party.
Our forefathers fought the greatest war in history and emerged the sole victors, while we send robots to bomb our medieval enemies.
Our forefathers escaped the mighty Earth to tread the ghostly moon. Not only did we fail to follow in their footsteps we betrayed our sons by dismantling Our Kind's single greatest achievement.
Our forefathers we mocked, our sons betrayed. We cannot be punished with guilt, for we are, in our abysmal ignorance, blind to our crimes.
There is only one pit big enough to contain our moral stench: Eternity, gaping wide.

Amen brother!

"We seem to be moving steadily in the direction of a society where no one is responsible for what he himself did, but we are all responsible for what somebody else did, either in the present or in the past." – Thomas Sowell

“The world is a fine place and worth fighting for and I hate very much to leave it.” – Ernest Hemmingway, “For Whom the Bell tolls”

“I was country, when country wasn’t cool.” – Barbara Mandrell

Speak for yourself John Alden. As a Baby-Boomer myself I don’t feel responsible for any of that. I’ve spent my life working against those forces that have laid low our great nation and seek to deprive us of our freedoms. Let’s not forget that it was members of the World War II generation themselves that made the most profound changes to American society that have given us the mess we face today. They were the ones who sold the family cow for a handful of magic beans that was supposed to grow a utopia. Particularly staring in '50's and '60's when I was a little shaver in no position to influence much of anything. Like what would be the harm, eh? Well now we know. Every generation has its idiots and traitors. Yeah, we Baby-Boomers, Gen-Xer’s and Millennials in the aggregate have all been betrayed. We were all sold a bill of goods and suffer from having had our heads collectively filled full of bullshit about what is good, necessary and right. That doesn’t mean we should compound the error by becoming defeatist and giving up. Well you can give up if you want to, it’s still putatively a free country and you can do what you will. Those of us who are not defeatist can probably get along without your ‘help’. In the meantime it’s important to understand what’s happening and why. I myself am all for free speech. I like it when Leftists speak up and tell us who they are and what they truly want to accomplish. They have been able to do most of their damage by disguising their intentions and hiding behind a mask of compassion. On the upside right-wing, “extremist” organizations like the National Rifle Association and Knife Rights have done yeoman service in restoring the recognition of our rights to keep and bear arms in our defense, across the land. This really bothers the Left because to them it makes no sense at all to allow your political opponents to possess arms.

Savage is right, James.

Amen. In fairness to him, he's the first Baby Boomer I've heard acknowledge his forefathers.

My fathers taught me that waste, sloth, greed, theft, were not acceptable, most of all they hated lies, their generation pushed me to better my community and my family, most of them, the really strong jaded ones, helped me with my desire to learn more about finding the truth, because they knew they had been bullshitted! I have lived a humble life compared to most of the greedy wasteful boomers. Most of men my age in rural areas lived the same as their parents.
