As a general note, I have not failed to consider Islam, which I believe to be the chief competing system to corporate globalism at this time, but rather lack the reading to weigh in on it. I have only read four general histories of the Islamic world and have read the Koran a mere 3 times, not even getting into the body of literature between it and the recent general studies, so shall remain silent on Islam.
However, I should mention that Columbus, Magellan and other early Iberian and Italian deep-water navigators took to the Ocean Sea in a clearly professed attempt to circumnavigate, not the world, but Islamic lands, in a hoped for pincer alliance which would enable contact with the legendary Pestor John or other sympathetic Christian King beyond Islamic lands. Islam, by way of opposition, fueled the very first flames of European global ambition.

"...I have only read four general histories of the Islamic world and have read the Koran a mere 3 times..."

If you were an academic (had the right piece of paper) we'd have to call you an Islamic scholar.

Jews and Muslims have always been allied against Christendom, up until the age of Zionism, that is. Even now, in the West, Organized Jewry (to be sure, many individual Jews are not Islamophiles) is the biggest enabler and booster of Islamic immigration. Auster (a Jew) explains this enemy-of-my-enemy logic:
