We were told to clear the tracks, as the Marines would come by submarine after the 20th.
First section left this morning.
Selection of site to erect barracks is difficult because of the constant patrols of the enemy planes.
July 16, 44
We erected the barracks today and rested after their completion.
A messenger came today with the orders to post a sentry at San Sora. [1] We complied.
July 17, 44
Enemy scout planes slowly circled overhead.
Even the Japanese army is made helpless on this island.
How long will this continue?
The army units will also assemble on the north coast on the 23rd.
